A bit about Pro Gary Hurley

Gary has been competing on both the European and Challenge Tours for the 2016 and 2017 season. His best finish came at the Montecchia Open by Lyoness where he finished in a tie for 4th place after rounds of 63, 65 and 70 in 2016. This catapulted him up the Road to Oman rankings. He finished the season off in 80th position in the 2016 Challenge Tour rankings and went on to European Tour Q-School last November.

At the final stage of European Tour Q-School, Gary finished in 44th position and earned himself a full Challenge Tour card for the 2017 season. This season, he has been competing on both the European and Challenge Tours and will continue to do so for the rest of the year.

Claimed his first professional win at The Palmares Classic V Trophy on the Algarve Pro Tour in Portugal by 1 shot.

Before turning professional Gary proved to be one of the most consistent amateur golfers in the world having secured 5 straight top 10’s in high profile amateur events. Runner-up finishes at both the Spanish Amateur and the European Amateur championship in 2015 solidified Gary’s involvement in Nigel Edwards’ Walker Cup team. Gary was part of the ‘Famous Five’ on this team with 4 of his Irish teammates also making the team. GB & I went on to win the Walker Cup and Hurley turned professional the next day.

Gary was a former 2-time participant of the Palmer Cup and has represented Ireland in the Home Internationals, World Amateur Team Championship and Great Britain & Ireland in the St. Andrews Trophy.

Representative teams as an amateur:

GB&I Walker Cup team 2015
European Palmer Cup team 2015
Irish Men’s Home International Team 2012-2015
Ireland’s Eisenhower Trophy team 2014
