The course is renowned for its beautifully manicured appearance, undulating greens, beautiful views, and surroundings.

 

Recently, the course has benefitted from installing a new fairway drainage system, allowing play when other courses have been closed in adverse weather conditions.

 

Set in the beautiful Beauchief Estate, the course was designed by the famous architect Herbert Fowler, also renowned for other such designs as Walton Heath and The Berkshire. Fowler's design ethos of strategy and reward is apparent.

 

Hallamshire is home to one of the best and most challenging golf courses in North England.

 

Designed by the renowned H.S. Colt, the Heathland layout thoroughly examines your game.

 

The renowned hand-mown greens are typically slick in the summer and long into the autumn months, yet they are relatively small and invariably present a challenge to get “up and down”.

 

The fast-draining soil and buffeting breeze drain the turf exceptionally well, and as a result, Hallamshire is often open in the winter when others are closed due to water logging.

 

Renowned as one of the best courses in the North of England and set in the beautiful hills of Sheffield, the course gives some truly fantastic panoramic views of the Peak District & Steel City.

 

It may not be one of the longest courses at 6254 yards off the white tees and 5544 yards for ladies, but it is a true test of your skills.
