The Island Golf Club
The Island Golf Club, founded in 1890, is a traditional private Members’ golf club with a proud history of upholding the best traditions of amateur golf.
Overlooked by the North County Dublin village of Malahide, the links is located in some of the most stunning dunes on the east coast of Ireland. It is also one of the oldest golf courses in Ireland and was ranked 13th in Golf Digest Ireland’s Top 100 Courses in 2015.
It enjoys a growing international reputation and currently hosts Regional Qualifying for The Open Championship and co-hosted the Strokeplay qualifying for the British Amateur Championship in 2019.
The Royal Dublin Golf Club
Founded in 1885 by Mr. John Lumsden, The Royal Dublin Golf Club is steeped in golfing history and presents a stern golfing examination on a truly magnificent links course and is widely accepted as one of the greatest links courses in the world. The links was originally designed by H.S.Colt, the world famous golf architect from Sunningdale.
The Royal Dublin Golf Club has hosted many Irish championships, starting with the Irish Amateur Open back in 1894. The Royal Dublin Golf Club hosted The Carrolls Irish Open from 1983-1985 with Seve Ballesteros winning in 1983 and 1985 and Bernhard Langer winning in 1984. The Club has also regularly hosted the Irish Amateur Close and the Irish PGA.
The Links Portmarnock
Bernhard langer is no stranger to Portmarnock and these parts. He won the Irish open no fewer than three times at the nearby Portmarnock golf club and Royal Dublin golf club. It was then when he made the logical career move from player to golf course designer and chose our course as his first links course design.
Along with renowned American architect Stan Eby, he has come up with a course that has been described by golf world magazine as “everything a links course should be” with rolling fairway and unforgiving rough. It has been chosen to host numerous amateur and professional events, including the 2008 and 2009 Ladies Irish Open.
Portmarnock Golf Club
Within a picturesque curve of coastline, 10 miles to the north of Dublin City and only a 15-minute drive from Dublin Airport, Portmarnock Golf Club sits majestically on a narrow tongue of shallow dune land. And as a measure of its enduring quality, it remains one of the most respected venues in world golf. No other Irish course has been graced by so many distinguished players in a rich history encompassing a broad sweep of significant events.
It is where Arnold Palmer and Sam Snead successfully followed its serpentine route through classic link land on their way to victory in the 1960 Canada Cup. And it is where another generation of Americans, including Phil Mickelson and David Duval, secured a memorable Walker Cup triumph in 1991. These events, along with 19 staging’s of the European Tour’s Irish Open Championship, reflect the quality of a searching examination across the link’s twenty-seven holes. We look forward to warmly welcoming you to play our Championship links, which are rated consistently at the top of national polls, including the Golf Digest rankings.
St Anne’s Golf Club
St. Anne’s Golf Club is located on the beautiful Bull Island, a world-famous nature reserve. Founded in 1921, St. Anne’s started life as a 9-hole course and in 1989 achieved 18 hole links course status.
It has come a long way from the humble clubhouse in 1925. They now have what is now one of the most impressive clubhouses in the country with wonderful facilities and spectacular views of Dublin bay
Corballis Links Golf Club
Excellent standards of presentation and a demanding course make Corballis Links one of Ireland’s most popular pay and play facilities. Fully open throughout the year, we can ensure the course is accessible for members and visitors to enjoy.
In early October 2007 renowned course architect Ron Kirby was commissioned to design four new holes along the coast on the front nine. A par 66 it may be, though don’t be fooled, it’s challenging… be careful, nothing can be taken for granted!
Some great links courses to really enjoy a golfing holiday in Ireland.
