Royal Aberdeen (Balgownie)

Royal Aberdeen Golf Club in Aberdeen, Scotland, was founded in 1780 as the Society of Golfers at Aberdeen and became the Aberdeen Golf Club in 1815. Until 1888 members played on the Queen’s Links close to the city before moving across the River Don to the links at Balgownie. The Course was originally designed by the Simpson Brothers, Archie and Robert of Carnoustie and later re-bunkered and lengthened by James Braid to ensure our classic links kept pace with the modern game.

Royal Aberdeen (Balgownie) Golf Course
Balgownie is one of the truest links land layouts in golf. It’s a course to test the better golfer, one who can accommodate the many variable conditions this arduous links can throw at you. Balgownie’s front nine holes rank amongst the very best in the world. No two are the same within a natural ecosystem, interspersed with rich turf and tight rolling fairways, that is a sheer delight to behold. The Balgownie course is a classic links layout – out through the dunes and back along a plateau.

Trump International Scotland

Dr. Hawtree’s father and grandfather before him designed and laid out many courses worldwide but are perhaps best known for the Open Championship course, Royal Birkdale. The Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St.Andrews task Dr. Hawtree each year with the design modifications at all their Open Championship venues before each tournament. Dr. Hawtree’s fierce adherence to working with the natural environment has allowed him to create the most natural links golf courses on this site.

Trump International Scotland, Hole 13
The 7,400 yard, par 72 championship Trump International golf course is designed by renowned golf course architect, Dr. Martin Hawtree, and follows a classical pattern of two out-and-back loops of nine holes. All 18 holes thread their way engagingly through The Great Dunes of Scotland; rising to find panoramic views of the North Sea and dramatic coastline, and plunging into secluded valleys rich with native vegetation. Each hole has six separate tees catering for all levels of golfer. The bunkers are placed to challenge the stronger player and not unduly punish the weaker golfer. All bunkers are turf-revetted in traditional style to combat wind, erosion and sand-blow.

Murcar Golf Club

Murcar Links is an attractive 18 hole course situated on the coast of Aberdeenshire, 10 minutes from Aberdeen city centre with superb views across the North Sea. Host club for the 2021 Scottish Men’s Amateur Championship.
