Pinnacle Point Golf Club

Overview

Pinnacle Point Golf Club is located on South Africa’s Garden Route in Mossel Bay. It’s known as one of the most amazing golf courses in the world. Sitting high above the Indian Ocean, this course provides golfers with breathtaking views and a challenge. Whether you’re an expert or just starting out, you’ll enjoy the mix of nature and skill that this course offers.

Course Design

The Pinnacle Point golf course was created by Peter Matkovich and Darren Clarke. This stunning course sits on cliffs covered in fynbos, a plant found in South Africa. It has 18 holes that fit perfectly into the rugged coastal landscape. Golfers can enjoy amazing views of the sea, with some holes playing right next to the edge of the cliffs. Even though the course looks incredible, it’s accessible for players of all skill levels, thanks to different tee options and a fair layout.

Course Challenges

The course has its challenges, including the constant sea breeze, rolling fairways, and carefully placed bunkers. The greens are fast and smooth, which means you need to be precise and gentle when putting. One hole that stands out is the par-3 7th. It crosses a dramatic drop with the ocean crashing below, making it both exciting and a little scary. The 18th hole is a long par-5 that leads back to the clubhouse, providing a strong and strategic finish to your game.

Facilities

Pinnacle Point Golf Club has great facilities. There’s a modern clubhouse where you can enjoy amazing views, a pro shop, a fine dining restaurant, and locker rooms. The golf academy on-site offers coaching and advanced swing analysis, making it perfect for both serious players and those who just want to have fun on the course.

Tournaments

Pinnacle Point hosts many tournaments, including events from the Sunshine Tour and big amateur competitions. Its good name keeps getting better, and it ranks highly in both South Africa and around the world.
