Campo Asia Golf Course
Overview
Campo Asia at La Cala Resort is one of the most exciting golf courses in southern Spain. Located in Andalusia, this 18-hole, par-72 course is great for testing your skills. Designed by Cabell B. Robinson, Campo Asia is the oldest of the three championship courses at La Cala and is a favourite among experienced golfers. It’s a fun and challenging place to play!
Course Layout
The course layout is challenging and wavy, with narrow fairways and small, elevated greens. It requires precise shots. You’ll find water hazards and steep hills throughout. Unlike the other courses, Campo Asia focuses more on strategy than just hitting hard. This makes it a great choice for players who like to think carefully about their game.
Standout Holes
The front nine sets the tone early, with the 3rd hole standing out as a stunning par-3 played over a dramatic ravine. The back nine intensifies with the 10th and 14th—two of the most demanding par-4s on the course. The signature 5th hole is a highlight: a downhill par-5 with water guarding the green, tempting longer hitters to go for it in two but punishing any miscalculation.
Facilities
La Cala Resort offers facilities for golfers. You can practice on a large driving range or improve your short game before your round. The clubhouse is modern and has a great pro shop where you can find everything you need. There are clean locker rooms and a friendly restaurant with amazing views. To make your game easier, you can rent golf buggies and use GPS during your play.
Tournaments
Campo Asia has held many amateur tournaments, such as the Andalucían PGA Championship. This shows just how good the course is and how challenging it can be. It’s a popular spot for competitive golfers who want to really test their skills.
