Les Pins
Overview
Les Pins at Golf d’Hardelot is an 18-hole golf course located in the pine forests of Hardelot-Plage, in Northern France. It was designed in 1934 by Tom Simpson and later updated by Frank Pont and Patrice Boissonnas. The course is a par-71 and measures 5,919 meters long. Les Pins is one of the top 30 golf courses in Europe, offering a wonderful mix of traditional design and modern challenges.
Strategic Layout and Challenges
The Les Pins golf course is a beautiful place that winds through a stunning pine forest and gentle sand dunes. This course requires accuracy and skill more than just strength. The carefully maintained fairways have been widened to make the game more strategic and are lined with tall pine trees, giving it a classic British feel similar to Wentworth West.
Golfers will encounter well-placed bunkers and fast greens that really challenge their shot-making abilities. Some tricky holes include the 6th, which used to be a par-5 and demands a precise drive, and the 9th, recognised as the toughest hole on the course. This bending par-4 features deep bunkers and a tight, raised green, making it a true test for any golfer.
Signature Holes
The 15th hole at Les Pins grabs attention with its stunning visuals. This par-4 features a fairway that winds between bunkers and clusters of trees. It challenges players to execute a strategic drive and a delicate approach to the sloping green. The 17th, a 175-yard par-3, requires a long carry over hazards to a well-guarded green, offering a dramatic test of skill. The 18th, a long par-4 with an elevated tee and fairway bunkers, provides a great finish in front of the clubhouse.

At Hardelot, you can enjoy great golf facilities. Their clubhouse has a restaurant that looks out over the 18th green. They also have a well-stocked pro shop and practice areas, including a driving range, putting green, and training bunker. If you need golf clubs or a cart, they offer rentals so everyone can join in. The architecture and friendly service make Hardelot a perfect spot for a golf holiday.
