Real Club de Golf Guadalmina
Overview
Located in Guadalmina, a well-known area of Marbella, Real Club de Golf Guadalmina is one of the oldest and most respected golf clubs in southern Spain. It features two main courses—the North and South courses—along with a par-3 course. This club offers a great golfing experience for players of all skill levels. With beautiful views of the coast and mountains, it provides both fun challenges and stunning scenery.
A Tale of Two Courses
The South Course, designed in 1959 by Javier Arana, is a test for low handicappers. It’s narrow and tree-lined, requiring precise driving and accurate approach play. Water hazards on several holes add further difficulty, particularly on the back nine. The par-4 11th, which plays towards the Mediterranean Sea, is a standout hole thanks to its demanding tee shot and scenic backdrop.
In contrast, the North Course, built in 1973 by Folco Nardi, is slightly shorter and more forgiving, though still technical. It features more undulating terrain and several elevated greens. The par-3 17th, with its water carry and deep bunkering, is a particular highlight.
