Atalaya Golf & Country Club

Overview

Nestled between Marbella and Estepona, Atalaya Golf & Country Club offers one of the most enjoyable golfing experiences on the Costa del Sol. With two 18-hole courses, this club caters to all skill levels, making it a popular choice for both experienced players and newcomers planning a golf break in Spain. Set against the Sierra Blanca mountains and just minutes from the beach, Atalaya Golf is ideal for those wanting a golf holiday in Spain.

The Courses: Old Course & New Course

The Old Course, designed by Bernard von Limburger in 1968, is a classic parkland layout. Wide fairways, mature trees, and gentle slopes make it playable for all, yet still challenging. Accuracy is key, especially on the tree-lined holes. The greens are large and well-maintained, offering a true roll.

The New Course, built in 1990, is slightly shorter but more technical. It features undulating fairways and elevated greens, rewarding thoughtful shot-making. Fewer trees open up wider views of the coast and surrounding hills.

Signature Holes and Highlights

On the Old Course, Hole 12, a long par 5 with a slight dogleg and water protecting the green, stands out as a favourite. On the New Course, Hole 7, a short par 3 with a dramatic drop and panoramic views, tests your accuracy and club choice.

Both courses are walkable but offer buggies and trolleys for convenience.

Facilities and Clubhouse

Atalaya Golf boasts a clubhouse with a restaurant, bar, pro shop, and changing rooms. The large terrace offers views over the Old Course—a great place to relax after your round. There’s also a top-tier driving range, chipping area, and putting green, as well as a golf academy led by PGA professionals.

If you’re looking to enjoy a quick golf break in Marbella or a whole week of golfing in Spain, Atalaya Golf & Country Club is a great option. With different courses to choose from, amazing facilities, and beautiful views, you’re sure to have a memorable time on the golf course.
