Copperhead Course
Overview
Explore the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Golf Resort, a top spot for golf in Florida. Located in Palm Harbour, this iconic par-71 course is 7,209 yards long. It combines natural beauty and strategic design, making it enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels.
Designed by Lawrence Packard, the course features fairways lined with pine trees, gentle hills like those in the Carolinas, and many water hazards, including several lakes and ponds. Elevation changes add an element of surprise, while narrow fairways and small slopes require careful shots from start to finish.
Course Challenges
Golfers looking for a challenge will find it at the Copperhead Course. Ranked as one of the PGA TOUR’s toughest courses. It tests accuracy with narrow fairways bordered by deep rough and large bunkers.
Water comes into play on multiple holes, making shots to the green more difficult. The greens are gently sloped and need careful attention to avoid three-putts.
This tough course rewards persistence and strategy. It’s popular with both experienced and casual golfers who enjoy a fair yet demanding Florida golf course.
Signature holes at Innisbrook’s Copperhead Course
The signature holes at Innisbrook’s Copperhead Course are called the “Snake Pit.” These are the last three holes, numbers 16 to 18, and they often decide who wins the tournament.
Hole 16 is a short par-4, tough hole that requires an accurate shot to a narrow green flanked by bunkers. The 17th hole is a lengthy par-3 that plays over water to a large, sloped green. Hole 18 is another par-4 with a narrow fairway, a challenging second shot, and bunkers guarding the green.
Other well-known holes are the opening par-5 dogleg right, known as “Innisbrook’s View,” and the double-dogleg par-5 14th, which stretches to 590 yards.
