Course Layout at Eagle Mountain Golf Club

The layout at Eagle Mountain Golf Club takes full advantage of the Sonoran Desert terrain. It goes through natural box canyons, hills, and green valleys. Golfers encounter various terrain, such as ridges and dry stream beds, and can enjoy panoramic views of Camelback Mountain and Red Mountain.

There are four sets of tees: Gold (6,800 yards, slope 134), Green (6,269 yards, slope 127), White (5,900 yards, slope 120), and Red (5,065 yards, slope 118), so golfers of all levels can play. The course offers players choices rather than forcing them to play a certain way, unlike some other desert courses.

Challenges for Golfers

Eagle Mountain Golf Club offers a challenging yet fair experience. The course features elevation changes, strategic bunkering, and water hazards that demand precision. The greens are wavy, and the holes are all a little different, testing both distance control and accuracy.

Unlike some tough desert courses, this one has wide fairways and fewer forced carries to hit over, so it is easier for everyone. Still, good players can find ways to challenge themselves and shoot low scores.

One of the most popular holes is the 17th, called “Sunset Point.” It is a par-4 and 345 yards long from the Gold tees. Players must hit the ball over a desert ravine to reach the green, which sits at the edge of the valley and has great views.
