Overview
Experience Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, a great spot for anyone who enjoys desert golf. Located near Pinnacle Peak, Troon North has two 18-hole courses, the Monument and the Pinnacle, designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish.

Troon North Golf Club Layout
The Monument Course at Troon North is designed to emulate the British Open, encouraging players to use low, rolling shots on firm greens and boulder-framed fairways. The course is about 7,028 yards long with a par of 72. It has wide fairways that fit in with the desert terrain. This includes elevation changes, strategic bunkers, and stunning rock formations.
The Pinnacle Course is also a par-72 and slightly longer at 7,044 yards. It has severe elevation shifts, deeper arroyos, and fairways that vanish behind boulders, making some shots more difficult. Both courses are challenging and will test your skills, but they also reward smart play.
Troon North Golf Club Challenges
Golfers at Troon North face many challenges that test every part of their game. The desert environment brings natural hazards such as ravines, foothills, and indigenous flora. You need to hit the ball accurately to stay out of trouble.
Elevation variations add complexity, influencing club selection and shot trajectory. Bunkers and sloping greens make approach shots and putting harder. The Monument Course is a little easier and forgives mistakes, while the Pinnacle Course is tougher and looks more dramatic.
Both courses create an engaging experience for players of all skill levels, with many tee options to make the game fair for everyone.
Signature Holes
Signature holes show the beauty of Troon North Golf Club. On the Monument Course, the par-5 third hole is called “The Monument.” A huge rock sits in the middle of the fairway, challenging longer hitters to cut the corner on the right for an advantageous approach on this lengthy test.
On the Pinnacle Course, the par-5 16th hole stretches 609 yards from the back tees. It takes three precise shots to reach the green, which is big and gently sloped. Additionally, the 14th hole on Pinnacle is called the “Post Card.” This par-3 features a pretty shot over water to a large green, showcasing the beauty of desert golf.
Facilities at Troon North Golf Club
Beyond the golf courses, Troon North offers great facilities to enhance your visit. There is a full-length turf driving range with target greens ranging from 50 to 250 yards. There is also a large putting green with over a dozen practice holes and a chipping green.
The clubhouse has the Dynamite Grille restaurant, a pro shop, and places for weddings and group events, all close to the courses. Caddies and membership choices are also available for regular guests and visitors.
Hosted Tournaments
In 2025, Troon North Golf Club helped host the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, using holes from both the Monument and Pinnacle courses to create a tough course for the best amateur players. Troon North is regularly ranked among the best public golf courses by Golf Magazine and remains a favourite place to play in Arizona.
