Experience exceptional golf in Spain at Neguri Golf Course, located in the Costa Verde region. Established in 1911, this private club offers an 18-hole par-72 course designed by Javier Arana. The course measures 6,280 metres, with a course rating of 72.3 and a slope rating of 127.
Course Layout & Design:
The front nine holes are atop cliffs, providing stunning views of the Cantabrian Sea. Golfers should prepare for strong northwest winds that add to the challenge. The back nine features fairways lined with maritime pines, offering a contrasting yet equally demanding experience.
The course is known for its wide fairways, expansive greens, and minimal greenside bunkering. Several holes are perched along the cliff tops, approximately 60 metres above sea level, offering breathtaking sea vistas.
Practice Facilities:
Facilities at the club include a restaurant, swimming pool, paddle court, football pitch, and nursery. While primarily a private club, visitors are welcome on weekdays, excluding public holidays. A valid handicap certificate is required, with maximum handicaps of 28 for men and 36 for women.
Golf Course Reputation:
Real Sociedad de Golf de Neguri has hosted two Spanish Open championships and numerous national amateur tournaments. In 2022, Golf World ranked it as Spain’s 5th best course, and in 2023, it was listed as Continental Europe’s 49th best course.
