The Palmer

Overview

Welcome to The Palmer at PGA National Resort, a golf course designed by Arnold Palmer in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. This championship course is famous for being both friendly and challenging. It measures 6,684 yards and has a par of 72.

The course mixes traditional Scottish links-style with the beautiful green scenery of South Florida. You’ll find smooth fairways, tricky water hazards, and plenty of grass bunkers. The Palmer is perfect for golfers of all skill levels, encouraging fun and creative shots while also rewarding accuracy. It truly stands out among the golf courses at PGA National Resort!

Course Layout and Challenges

The Palmer’s design offers a mix of risk and reward for golfers. It has wide fairways and large greens, but there are also tricky water hazards on several holes. One unique feature is a shared green for holes 8 and 12, which adds a special challenge. The raised greens have gentle slopes that require golfers to be precise with their shots. If you hit the ball into the thick rough, you’ll face a tough penalty.

Holes 15 and 16, both par 4s, really make you think about your strategy. You’ll need to pick your clubs wisely because there are both bunkers and water to avoid. Finally, the course ends with a thrilling par-5 hole, the 18th, which stretches 601 yards. This hole is along a lake and requires careful shots to keep from hitting the water. It’s an unforgettable finish!

Signature Holes

The par-5 18th hole is The Palmer’s crown jewel, celebrated for its scenic beauty and daunting length. Navigating a tight fairway and lake makes it a true test of skill. The par-4 7th, a short yet strategic hole, requires a precise lay-up to avoid water, offering a rewarding birdie opportunity for bold players. These signature holes at The Palmer create memorable moments for every golfer.
