Villamartin Golf Course

Overview

Villamartin Golf Course is one of the oldest golf courses on the Costa Blanca. It opened in 1972 and fits into the nature around it. This course offers a mix of traditional and challenging holes for golfers. Designed by Paul Putman, Villamartin is well-known among local and visiting golfers for its layout, challenges, and great facilities.

Course Layout

The Villamartin Golf Course features an 18-hole, par-72 layout stretching over 6,132 metres. Mature trees, natural ravines, and bunkers come into play throughout the round. The course demands accuracy off the tee and smart shot selection into the greens. The front nine favours precision, while the back nine opens up, giving players the chance to attack.

Course Challenges

Villamartin offers a unique golfing experience where each hole presents a new challenge. With changes in elevation, sloping fairways, and quick greens, every round is exciting. The 17th hole is the highlight—a beautiful par 3 that goes over a deep ravine, testing even the best golfers. The 18th hole is also impressive, requiring a good tee shot and a careful approach to the green, which is right in front of the clubhouse terrace.

Clubhouse and Practice Facilities

The golf course has great facilities to enjoy. The modern clubhouse features a big terrace that looks over the 18th green, making it a nice place to relax after a round of golf. You can practice your swing at the driving range or work on your putting and short game at the practice areas. There are also golf lessons available, so it’s a fun spot for both beginners and experienced players.

Tournaments

Villamartin is known for hosting many national and international golf tournaments, including some that are part of the European Tour. Because the course is well-kept and offers a good challenge, it is a popular place for competitive golf.
