Aa Golf De Saint-Omer Club

Overview

Located in the French countryside, Aa Golf de Saint-Omer Club provides a golfing experience just 40 minutes from Calais. This championship course is famous for its lovely views, smart design, and excellent facilities. It’s a great spot for golf holidays in Northern France, attracting both beginners and experienced players.

Course Layout

The course layout at Aa Golf de Saint-Omer Club is both scenic and demanding. Designed by Dutch architect Johan Friedrich, the 18-hole championship course, known as Le Val, stretches over 6,258 metres. Par 73, it winds through woodlands and valleys, offering elevation changes and natural water hazards that require careful shot selection. The front nine rewards accuracy, while the back nine challenges even experienced players with tighter fairways and sloping greens.

Signature Holes

One of the signature holes is the par-5 11th, set against the Artois hills. It demands precise driving and a strategic approach to avoid the water hazard guarding the green. The 18th, a par-4 finishing hole, offers a thrilling end with a narrow fairway and an undulating green surrounded by bunkers—perfect for dramatic conclusions.

Facilities

Facilities at the club are outstanding. The clubhouse includes a pro shop, modern locker rooms, and a welcoming restaurant with views of the course. Practice areas include a driving range, chipping green, and putting green, ideal for warming up before a round or sharpening your game.

Events

Aa Golf de Saint-Omer has a proud history of hosting prestigious events, including the European Challenge Tour’s Hauts de France – Pas de Calais Golf Open. This highlights the course’s quality and its standing within French golf.
