Al Zorah Golf Club

Overview

Al Zorah Golf Club is located in the mangrove forests of Ajman, United Arab Emirates. This golf course, designed by the Nicklaus Design team, features 18 holes and is a par-72 championship course. It covers over one million square meters and has 12 kilometres of stunning views along the Arabian Gulf. Only 25 minutes from Dubai International Airport, Al Zorah Golf Club offers a perfect mix of natural beauty and smart golf design. It’s one of the best golf courses in the UAE for players who want to enjoy a great round of golf.

Al Zorah Course Layout and Design

Al Zorah Golf Club is beautifully designed to fit perfectly with its natural surroundings. The fairways flow through protected mangroves and sandy dunes along the coast. The course is 7,169 yards long from the championship tees and offers five sets of tees to make it fun for golfers of all skill levels. This means everyone can enjoy the game, whether they’re beginners or experts.

The greens are well-kept bentgrass, and the fairways are Bermuda, providing smooth surfaces for a great playing experience. The design of the course focuses on keeping the area’s beauty intact, letting the tidal creeks and natural sandy areas add their own challenge to the game.

Challenges at Al Zorah Golf Club

Al Zorah Golf Club is special because it offers many exciting challenges that change with the tides. Players need to deal with moving water hazards, strong coastal winds, and lots of wildlife, which requires both skill and adaptability.

On the front nine, you’ll find clever bunkers and lagoons that make each hole interesting and build excitement as you move toward the turn. The back nine gets even tougher, with narrower fairways and chances to take risks among the mangroves.

These features make the course a true test of golf, where smart thinking and good decisions are more important than just hitting the ball hard.

Standout Features

Among the standout features are the signature holes at Al Zorah Golf Club, each a masterpiece of design. The par-3 sixth hole demands a daring carry over a lagoon to a peninsula green, offering scenic views and a true “wow” moment. The dramatic par-5 fifteenth, a double dogleg flanked by water on both sides, tempts aggressive players with a shortcut but punishes the errant shot.

Hole two, a scenic par-3 guarded by a lake on the left and twin bunkers on the right, sets an early tone of elegance and difficulty. Further highlights include the 12th, where a deep fairway bunker and wind-swept green complex require pinpoint accuracy. The 17th is a 225-yard par-3 with an angled green that favours a left-to-right approach to avoid short-right perils.
