Barlassina Country Club

Overview

Located in the Groane Park, just 20 km north of Milan, Barlassina Country Club offers a great golfing experience filled with history and charm. Established in 1956, this exclusive 18-hole course is par-72 and was designed by John S.F. Morrison and Donald Harradine. The course stretches 6,135 meters through old oak forests and rolling hills. With its parkland layout, later improved by John D. Harris and Marco Croze, Barlassina combines fun challenges with stunning natural scenery. It’s a must-visit spot for golfers looking for a great course near Milan!

Challenging Layout and Signature Holes

The Barlassina golf course is known for its beautiful and challenging layout. Each hole offers something different, mixing strategy with skill. One of the hardest holes features a left dog-leg shape with woods, a ditch, and bunkers that protect the green. This hole requires careful planning and precise shots. Another interesting hole is a short left dog-leg, where players typically use a 4 or 3 iron followed by a 9 iron or a pitch shot to reach a green that is well-guarded. The course has thick, rough, and stylish bunkers, making it a fun and rewarding challenge for golfers of all abilities, from beginners to advanced players.

Facilities

Barlassina Country Club features a clubhouse designed by Luigi Vietti. This clubhouse was shown in the classic 1960 film La Notte by Michelangelo Antonioni. It has an elegant restaurant with a view of hole 10, where you can enjoy Italian meals. If you’re looking for a quick snack, there’s a snack bar near hole 9.

The club offers many amenities, including a 230-meter driving range with both covered and open grass areas for practice. There’s also an 18-hole putting green and an area for short games. Members can relax by the 33-meter swimming pool, play on a synthetic grass tennis court, or work out in a gym that features golf-specific equipment, such as the Keiser Infinity Functional Trainer.

Hosted Tournaments and Events

Barlassina Country Club is a great place for golfers of all levels. They hold many tournaments, from easy events for beginners to tough competitions for advanced players. At the BCC Golf Academy, their instructors, like Paolo Gropelli and former European Tour player Federico Colombo, provide excellent lessons to help golfers improve.
