Designed by Tom Watson, this signature course draws inspiration from British links-style layouts while blending in Florida’s natural elements, making it one of the most unique and challenging inland golf courses in the state.

Stretching 7,776 yards from the championship tees with a par of 72, the Conservatory Course is one of Florida’s longest courses. The design focuses on strategic play across rolling fairways, well-kept greens, and expansive terrain.

With streams, waterfalls, detailed stonework, and sod-faced bunkers, the course brings to mind classic links aesthetics, with coquina rock features and deep pot bunkers that demand precision and thoughtful shot selection.

Course Challenges

Golfers face substantial challenges throughout the round. This steep mounding that affects sightlines, water hazards influencing multiple holes, and over 140 bunkers.

The course tests accuracy off the tee, distance control on approaches, and putting on large, wavy greens. As one of the tougher resort courses in Florida, it rewards skilled players while staying friendly through different tee options.

Signature Holes on the Conservatory Course

Among its signature holes, the par-3 eighth hole has a dramatic island green surrounded by water, making it the course’s most famous and eye-catching challenge. It requires nerve and pinpoint accuracy, with bailout room available to the right for conservative play.

The final par-5 18th hole offers a raised tee box nearly 200 feet high. It gives scenic views of the entire course and a memorable finish often reachable in two shots for long hitters.

Facilities at the Conservatory Course include a unique British-style, glass-domed clubhouse resembling a nature conservatory. It has a fully stocked pro shop, cocktail lounge, and dining options offering views of the surrounding area.
