Druids Glen Golf Course

Overview

Druids Glen Golf Course is located in the countryside of County Wicklow, just 30 minutes away from Dublin. Often called the “Augusta of Europe,” this parkland course combines stunning scenery with smart golf design. It’s a must-play for anyone who loves golf and is visiting Ireland!

Course Layout

Druids Glen is a beautiful and fun golf course that presents some challenges. Designed by Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock, the course has 18 holes that wind through tall trees, water features, and gentle hills. The fairways are wide and welcoming, but you need to be precise to avoid the well-placed bunkers and challenging greens. Each hole offers something new, making it a great place to test your skills and strategy.

Signature Holes

One of the best things about the course is its signature holes. The par-3 12th hole has a beautiful tee shot that goes over a water-filled ravine to a green that’s framed perfectly. It looks great and is a fun challenge to play. Then there’s the par-4 13th hole, which has a cool elevated tee and is surrounded by woods. This hole not only gives you stunning views but also provides an exciting test for golfers.

Tournaments

Druids Glen has earned its reputation not only through design but also through its tournament pedigree. It hosted the Irish Open from 1996 to 1999, welcoming golf legends such as Sergio Garcia and Colin Montgomerie. The course also hosted the Seve Trophy in 2002, further cementing its status on the European stage.

Facilities

Druids Glen offers facilities to make your visit even better. The clubhouse has a pro shop stocked with everything you need, plus locker rooms for your convenience. After your game, you can unwind at The Thirteenth Bar & Pavilion, where you can enjoy views of the 13th green. If you want to improve your game, the Druids Glen Golf Academy provides lessons for both beginners and more experienced golfers.
