Course Layout at Dye Fore
The layout features three nine-hole sections: Chavón, Marina, and Lagos. This setup allows for versatile 18-hole combinations. The standard pairing of Marina and Chavón offers a par-72 experience. Players will enjoy stunning views all around, including the Caribbean Sea, the Dominican mountains, the Chavón River, the marina, and the Altos de Chavón village. The design includes some historical touches that blend beautifully with the natural landscape.
Course Challenges
This course offers numerous challenges for golfers of every skill level. It features seven cliff-side holes that drop 300 feet to the Chavón River below. Players must make precise shots over deep ravines while facing strong winds. In the Lagos section, you’ll find five holes that include lakes, which bring in strategic water hazards.
The Marina and Chavón nines require players to be accurate on the fairways and elevated greens. These features test both power and skill, and the average time to play is around 4 hours and 45 minutes, making it a fun experience for everyone.
Signature Holes at Dye Fore
Dye Fore Golf Course is known for its signature holes that make it one of the best golf courses designed by Pete Dye. Two of the most challenging holes are 12 and 15 on the Chavón nine. These par-3 holes are some of the toughest in the world, with long shots needed to reach greens that sit high on cliffs, offering scenic views of the river below.
In addition, the Marina’s holes 4 and 5 are both par-4s that showcase beautiful views as you approach the greens. These holes overlook the Chavón River and the marina, mixing stunning scenery with some hard golfing challenges.
