Golspie Golf Club
Overview
Located on the east coast of the Scottish Highlands, Golspie Golf Club is a fantastic place to play golf. This historic course is in the village of Golspie and is along the famous North Coast 500 route. It has amazing views of the Dornoch Firth and the hills around it. Designed by the well-known golfer James Braid, Golspie Golf Club offers a fun mix of links, heathland, and parkland golf. This makes it one of the most interesting courses in Scotland!
Course Layout
The 18-hole course at Golspie stretches to 6,021 yards from the back tees and plays as a par 70. While not the longest, it demands accuracy and clever shot-making. The opening holes run close to the shore, providing classic links-style golf with undulating fairways and revetted bunkers. As you move inland, the course shifts into heathland terrain, framed by heather and gorse. The final stretch offers a parkland feel, lined by mature trees and strategically placed hazards.
Standout Holes
Among the standout holes is the par-3 16th, “Burn,” which plays over a natural stream to a well-protected green. Another highlight is the par-4 6th hole, where precision off the tee is essential to avoid deep bunkers and reach the green in regulation. These signature holes and the ever-changing landscape make every round at Golspie engaging and enjoyable.
