Iberostar Cancun Golf Club
Overview
Iberostar Cancun Golf Club offers a world-class golf experience set against the stunning backdrop of the Caribbean Sea. This exceptional 18-hole, par-72 championship course is a must-play for golfers visiting the Yucatan Peninsula. Designed by renowned architect Isao Aoki, the course presents a strategic layout that challenges players of all levels, making it a favourite among locals and tourists alike.
The course is 6,734 yards long and is by tropical scenery. It features a mix of natural beauty and challenging design. Water hazards are present on 10 out of the 18 holes. Players will face uneven fairways and quick greens that are well protected, making the game more interesting. You’ll have to navigate through thick plants, clever sand traps, and coastal winds that add a fun twist to each game. Despite the challenges, the course is friendly for everyone, with four sets of tees available for players of all skill levels.
Among the standout holes, Hole 4 deserves special mention. This par 3 plays over water to a narrow green, framed by palm trees and offering a dramatic ocean view. Another signature moment comes at Hole 16, a risk-reward par 5 that tempts longer hitters to go for the green in two, with bunkers and water guarding the approach.
Beyond the fairways, Iberostar Cancun Golf Club provides a full range of facilities. These include a modern clubhouse, a pro shop, and professional golf instruction. A practice range, chipping area, and putting green ensure golfers can warm up or hone their skills. After a round, players can relax at the clubhouse bar and enjoy views of the course and coastline.
