Overview
Knightsbrook Golf Course, part of the Knightsbrook Hotel Spa & Golf Resort in Trim, County Meath. The 18-hole championship parkland experience is just 45 minutes from Dublin.
It was designed by Christy O’Connor Jnr and opened in 2005–2006. This par-72 layout is about 7,200 to 7,270 yards from the back tees. It is enjoyable and challenging for golfers of all skill levels.
Knightsbrook Golf Course Layout
The layout has undulating fairways, challenging greens and water features that create both visual interest and strategic demands.
Golfers encounter limestone walls along holes 4, 6, 11 and 12. On the 4th hole, a restored 200-year-old weir stands on the Knightsbrook River to the left of the fairway. This historic structure allows players to pause and enjoy views of trout jumping on a fine summer evening.
The course is built to USGA specifications, ensuring consistent, high-quality playing conditions. Continuous upgrades to the bunkers with Capillary Concrete further support maximum playability year-round.
Challenges on the Knightsbrook Golf Course
Challenges arise from the combination of length, water carries and precise approach shots.
The 5th (par-3) of around 193 yards requires a full carry over water.
The 18th (par-3) demands a complete carry to a stone-fronted green protected by bunkers.
The 14th (par 4) ranks as the toughest hole on the card.
Multiple teeing options ensure the course remains accessible yet rewarding, encouraging risk-reward decisions throughout the round.
