La Mer Golf Course

Overview

Experience the stunning beauty and exciting challenges of La Mer Golf Course at Golf du Touquet, located along the Côte d’Opale in Le Touquet, France. This 18-hole, par-72 course was created in 1931 by Harry Colt and Charles Alison. It stretches for 6,275 yards through coastal dunes, giving golfers a real links-style experience, much like the best courses in Scotland.

La Mer ranks among the top 100 golf courses in Europe and offers a mix of clever design and scenic views of the sea. It’s a must-visit for anyone looking to have an unforgettable golf break in Northern France!

Course Layout and Challenges

La Mer Golf Course offers a challenge for golfers with its rolling fairways, deep bunkers, and quick, sloping greens. The coastal winds add an extra twist to each shot.

Some standout holes include the famous par-3 10th, which has a bridge that connects the tee to the green, and the tricky par-4 15th, where golfers face a blind tee shot and a downhill approach to a well-protected green. The par-3 17th features an elevated tee that gives stunning views of the dunes, making club selection tricky due to the changing winds.

These signature holes were beautifully restored in 2015 by designers Patrice Boissonnas and Frank Pont. Helping La Mer maintain its status as one of France’s top links courses.
