Overview
The New course at Trump International Golf Links Aberdeen opened in 2025 and is recognized as the World’s Best Golf Course at the 2025 World Golf Awards. This 18-hole, par-72 layout stretches from 5,105 to 7,589 yards. It sits among the Great Dunes of Scotland along the Aberdeenshire coastline, delivering scenic North Sea views and a pure test of modern links golf.
New Course Design
The design has three distinct phases that flow together. Play begins in former wetland terrain with contoured fairways and strategic water features.
It then moves into a stunning seaside stretch from the eighth to the fourteenth holes. These are widely regarded as the best part of the course. Towering sand dunes, infinity-edge greens, heather-clad heathland and native wetlands define the routing.
The course returns inland for a memorable finish. Fairways are wide in many places but require precise positioning. Larger, undulating greens reward thoughtful approach shots and careful putting. Wind, subtle elevation changes, and natural sandy hollows add layers of challenge without being unfair.
Standout Holes on the New Course
Standout holes show off the scenery. The seventh, a par-3 ranging from 103 to 188 yards, requires a precise carry over water to an elevated punchbowl green guarded by bunkers and dunes.
Other memorable holes have coastal greens with North Sea views and strategic par-4s and par-5s that invite both bold and calculated play.
The world’s largest natural bunker and mountainous dunes further define the character of this modern links masterpiece.
Facilities at Trump International Golf Links Aberdeen

The resort maintains more than 22 acres of practice grounds. It has a driving range with north- and south-facing tees, a short-game area with multiple greens and bunkers, and a 3,500-square-meter putting green that mirrors championship conditions.

The New Course strengthens the venue’s ability to host major professional events. Trump International Golf Links Aberdeen is the host of the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship (Legends Tour) and the Nexo Championship on the DP World Tour.
