San Roque Golf Club

Overview

San Roque Golf Club is located in the Sierra Bermeja mountains, close to Sotogrande. It is one of the best golf spots in Spain. The club has two courses: the Old Course and the New Course. If you love golf and want a holiday in Andalucia, San Roque Golf Club is a place you should definitely visit!

The Courses

The Old Course, designed by Dave Thomas and opened in 1990, is a mature parkland layout set among cork oak trees and rolling hills. Known for its immaculate fairways and fast, undulating greens, this course offers a traditional challenge that rewards strategy over brute force. Water hazards and deep bunkers are cleverly placed to test your accuracy from tee to green. The signature 9th hole, a demanding par 4 with a lake guarding the green, is a standout and often remembered as the highlight of the round.

The New Course, created by Perry Dye, offers a fresh and exciting look. It has big hills, large bunkers, and holes that present both risks and rewards, perfect for golfers who like to take chances. One of the standout holes is the par-5 15th, which has a split fairway and a green that sits high. This hole is not only beautiful but also challenging, making it a fun test for players.

Tournaments

San Roque Golf Club hosts tournaments like the European Tour Qualifying School Finals and the Spanish Open. These events have helped make the club a top choice for championship golf.
