Saunton Golf Club

Saunton Golf Club is located on the North Devon coast and gives you a true links golf experience. It has two championship courses, called the East and the West. This traditional links course is famous for its stunning scenery, challenging design, and great playing conditions throughout the year.

Two Links Layouts

The East Course is the highlight of Saunton Golf Club. Created by Herbert Fowler in 1920, this par-71 course winds through rolling dunes and narrow fairways. It provides a real challenge for golfers. To succeed here, players need to focus on precision, strategy, and making good shots, especially because the coastal winds can change quickly.

The West Course was added in the 1970s and has been updated to meet championship standards. It’s a bit shorter than some courses, but it still offers a good challenge. You’ll find high tees, deep bunkers, and smooth greens that require your full attention from the first tee shot to the last putt.

Standout Holes

Both courses present a range of challenges. The East Course’s signature hole, the par-4 17th, is especially demanding, with a dogleg fairway bordered by dunes and a narrow green protected by pot bunkers. On the West Course, the par-3 8th offers a picturesque yet testing shot across natural rough and coastal terrain.
