Sigona Country Club

Overview

Sigona Country Club is an 18-hole golf course located in the town of Kikuyu, only 20 minutes from Nairobi along the Nairobi-Naivasha highway. Established in 1938 and designed by Tom Simpson, this historic golf course offers a fun and challenging experience for golfers of all skill levels. You’ll enjoy stunning views of the Rift Valley while playing at an impressive height of 6,600 feet above sea level. Come and discover the charm of Sigona Country Club!

Course Layout and Challenge

Welcome to Sigona Country Club! The golf course stretches 6,892 yards for men (par 72) and 5,853 yards for women (par 74). You’ll find beautiful Kikuyu grass on the fairways and well-kept bentgrass on the greens. The course is set in a lovely parkland area, originally part of a wattle plantation, with lots of trees that make the game more challenging.

One of the toughest holes is the 7th, a 465-yard par-4 that bends to the left. It requires careful shots because of its sloping fairway and a tricky, bunkered green. There are also water hazards on the 11th hole and elevated tees on the 10th hole, adding more fun and strategy to your game. At Sigona Country Club, every round of golf is exciting and keeps you thinking!

Signature Holes

The 1st hole, a dogleg left par-4, sets the tone with a bunker-free yet precision-driven design, while the 18th hole, framed by mature trees and an elevated green, offers a dramatic finish. The 10th hole stands out with its elevated tee box, offering scenic views and a challenging uphill par-5 guarded by trees.

Facilities

At Sigona Country Club, there’s so much more than just golf! The modern clubhouse has a warm and inviting restaurant where you can enjoy a variety of dishes. You can relax at their bar that overlooks the 18th hole, making for a great view while you unwind.

They also have a heated swimming pool for those who want to take a dip. If you’re looking for a place to stay, their Sigona Golf Suites offer rooms with garden views and free WiFi. Whether you’re visiting for business or fun, the location is close to many of Nairobi’s attractions.

You’ll find even more great amenities here, like a fitness centre, steam room, and a playground for kids. Plus, they have conference facilities to meet your needs.
