Streamsong Red Course

Overview

Located in Bowling Green, Florida, the Streamsong Red Course is built on land that was once used for phosphate mining. Designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, this 18-hole golf course opened in 2012.

It is now known as one of the top public golf courses in America. The course has sand dunes, large lakes, and natural bunkers, offering a golf experience that combines challenge and scenic views.

Streamsong Red Course Layout

The Streamsong Red Course is 7,148 yards long and has a par of 72, offering a fair test for all golfers. The first nine holes are 3,387 yards (par 36), and the second nine are 3,761 yards (par 36).

Fairways wind through rolling terrain, open savannahs, and landforms. It’s a links-style not often found in Florida. Some holes feature height changes, with firm and bouncy turf that lets players try different shots.

Challenges at Streamsong Red Golf Course

Golfers face different challenges at Streamsong Red Golf Course. Each hole demands precision and decision-making. Waste areas, deep bunkers, and water hazards add risk and reward.

The “Mach 1” greens require accurate shots, while the uneven fairways and tall grass can lead to trouble if you miss your shot. Long par-4s test how far you can hit, short par-4s let you take risks, and par-3 holes test your aim with irons.

The course’s size and variety keep the game interesting for players who want a mentally engaging round.

Signature Holes

The signature holes on Streamsong Red Course capture the essence of its design. Hole 7, a 147-yard par-3, serves as the resort’s iconic challenge. It requires a precise shot over water to a well-guarded green.

Equally memorable is Hole 16, a 208-yard par-3 with a Biarritz green complex spanning 72 yards deep. Both holes need careful aim and confidence, and they give players a chance to recover if they miss.

These holes show the course’s blend of beauty and difficulty, making it hard to forget.
